SculpSure is one of the latest noninvasive cosmetic treatments that helps remove unwanted fat. It might be just what you are looking for to get rid of that muffin top, those love handles and other areas of excess fat that you can’t lose no matter how much you diet and exercise. But is it for you?
Who is a Candidate?
A candidate for SculpSure should be in good physical and mental health and should be reasonably close to their ideal weight. SculpSure is great for men, women and people of all ethnicities. The treatment isn’t for weight loss but is just to slim down those areas that resist lifestyle changes. Indeed, the Food and Drug Administration has specifically approved SculpSure to treat the upper and lower tummy and the flanks. It’s also used to remove fat from the double chin and the thighs.
The patient will have a consultation with the aesthetician, doctor or nurse before having the SculpSure treatment. The aesthetician tells the patient what to expect and might take photographs for before and after pictures.
How Does It Work?
SculpSure takes advantage of a phenomenon called fat lipolysis. This is where fat cells are destroyed either by heat or cold while other cells such as skin cells are unharmed. This is because the temperatures that damage fat cells and other cells are different. During a session, heat energy fixes on the fat cells while the top layers of the skin are kept cool throughout the whole session. Each session lasts only about 25 minutes.
Over a matter of weeks, the body processes the damaged fat cells and removes them, which is why aestheticians recommend that the patient have two Sculpsure sessions scheduled weeks apart. Each session removes a notable percentage of the unwanted fat. Once the fat cells are eliminated, they don’t come back. The treatment is comfortable, and patients can go back to their normal schedule after a session.
