What is ThermiTight, ThermiLift or ThermiRF?
While searching for the perfect nonsurgical facelift procedure which produces visible and consistent results, we are proud to offer ThermiLift , ThermiTight or ThermiRF (all three names refer to the same procedure). ThermiTight is the perfect minimally invasive procedure to bridge the gap between a noninvasive skin tightening technology and actual surgery. ThermiLift, ThermiTight or ThermiRF involves using a small cannula which transmits Radiofrequency energy under the skin. This little cannula is gently placed beneath the skin surface. A thermometer at the tip reads the temperature the tissue is being heated to while an Infrared camera constantly reads the heat at the skin surface. This allows for very precise therapeutic and safe heating which will help contract tissue and skin and build new collagen. The fiber can also be applied to ares of excess fat to treat fat cells. The procedure is performed using local numbing only and is generally painless during treatment. It takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete a procedure, depending on which areas are being treated. Neck and Jowls are the most commonly requested sites, but arms, knees, stomachs and thighs are picking up in popularity as well and respond equally well to this technology. ThermiTight has been cleared by the FDA for “thermistor‐regulated energy delivery for both micro-surgical and non-invasive aesthetic applications for dermatological and general surgical applications in soft tissue and nerves*.”
How does ThermiTight, ThermiLift or ThermiRF work?
ThermiTight delivers RF (radiofrequency) energy directly under the skin via a small cannula. The precise and controlled heat allows to achieve much higher temperatures to these areas, while keeping the skin at a safe 42 degrees. The deeper tissues are able to tolerate higher heat and this is required in order to achieve both apoptosis of fat cells and tissue/skin tightening by inducing new collagen formation. If there is a larger amount of fat present, we may recommend combining this procedure with manual liposuction or Vaser liposuction.*
What areas can be treated?
The ThermiTight procedure can treat a variety of areas for tightening including the face and any part of the body*.
How many treatments will I need?
The majority of our patients only require a single session. Results are gradually seen over the next few weeks to months. However, some patients may require multiple sessions to achieve desired end results.*
How is the procedure performed?
The Thermilift, Thermitight or ThermiRF procedure is performed strictly using Local Anesthesia. The patient is fully awake and the skin to be treated only is numbed with a lidocaine solution. Once numb, a small probe is threaded very slowly back and forth in a fan shaped pattern to cover all the areas beneath the skin requiring treatment. It is ideal if we can get a criss cross pattern using a puncture on the opposite side of the treatment zone for greater efficacy. There are several temperatures monitoring throughout the procedure. The first is the temperature set on the tip of the probe and the actual temperature the tissue is being raised to. Next is the temperature that the skin surface is reading at. It is critical to observe both temperatures constantly to reach safe and therapeutic ranges. Once uniform heating is established, the procedure comes to an end*.
