What is Vaser Smooth Cellulite Treatment?
Cellulite can now be treated in a single treatment session with a new procedure called Vaser Smooth. The procedure breaks the fibrous connective tissue bands under the skin which pull it down and cause the dimpling effect. It also shrinks the fat lobules that protrude through the fibrous connective tissue skin bands. Finally, it helps to stimulate collagen in the skin and smooth it out. Other procedures that help with cellulite reduction include Exilis Elite and Velashape. While these are great noninvasive-no recovery time options, Vaser Smooth yields more permanent results if you can afford a little recovery time. There is a chance that cellulite will begin to form again in the future.*
However, the structural changes made beneath the skin should hold much longer and potentially permanently compared to other methods. The procedure is performed strictly using local anesthesia. Once the treatment area is numbed, a special probe is inserted under the skin that will systematically release all the fibrous connective tissue bands, liquefy the fat lobules and stimulate collagen in the skin. Gentle suctioning is then used to assure a nice smooth appearance. You will need to wear a compression garment for about 2-4 weeks after the procedure. Although bruising can be seen, it is not very common. You should be able to resume exercising after 1 to 2 weeks post procedure. This procedure can be performed in conjunction with Vaser Liposuction. The collected fat can also be used for fat grafting/fat transfer if one wishes*.
