What Are Chemical Peels Used For?
Chemical peels are used to remove or reduce any damaged skin you may have on the top layer to reveal more smooth, even-textured, and healthy looking skin. They should help clear off dead skin cells and therefore improve conditions such as wrinkles, lines, sun spots, or even freckles at times.*
What Are Treatments Like?
First we will remove any excess oil you might have on your face using a cleanser that should feel nice on your skin. Then we apply the chemical peel to begin the process of refreshing and renewing your skin.*
Do Chemical Peels Hurt?
You should not experience pain during your Chemical Peel but patients do report feeling a warming sensation across their face during the time of their treatment. This should not be harsh enough to cause you any discomfort but please let us know if your skin feels irritated. Dr. Gupta and her staff are medically trained to give you the best treatment experiences possible.*
Are There Side Effects?
You might experience a few, mild side effects after your chemical peel that should likely disappear within a few hours up to a couple of days. Temporary side effects might include some swelling, redness, tenderness, discoloration, and increased sensitivity to the sun. (We recommend avoiding sun exposure for a little while after your treatment but we’ll discuss these details further at your consultation).
What Do Results Look Like?
Being that our Chemical Peels are of medical grade and top-of-the-line quality, you’ll notice how drastic results can be. Regardless of your skin condition and the goals you’d like to achieve aesthetically, we feel certain we’ll be able to find a chemical peel that helps improve your appearance.*
How Long Will Results Last?
Your results will depend on several factors and which chemical peel you choose as well as the severity of your skin condition but we often seen Chemical Peel results lasting anywhere from a few months up to a few years. It’s best to make some lifestyle changes such as avoiding sun exposure, not smoking or abusing alcohol, and eating healthier foods as well as exercising. These should increase the longevity of your results.*
